Pennsylvania Web Driller Resource – Web Driller Survey

The WebDriller survey is still available through this Friday, May 23, 2014 at http://www.apps.dcnr.state.pa.us/SelectSurveyNet2/TakeSurvey.aspx?SurveyID=922K377. Although the survey is anonymous, it’s helpful to us if you leave an email address if you are providing specific comments so that we can clarify any comments. We will provide a summary of results and our responses to address issues. We also plan to have a follow-up survey regarding practices and methods to help us better understand how data are entered. Internet browsers are rapidly changing and causing some issues with WebDriller. WebDriller is designed for Internet Explorer, but we are aware of compatibility issues with other browsers and systems.

Important: Regarding well completion reports, less than 40 percent of drillers over the past few years have submitted these required reports. DCNR Counsel is examining potential actions to use for drillers who consistently do not submit reports. As part of the improvements to WebDriller, we are providing methods for drillers to track their reports. In addition, we are improving the public online search for licensed drillers that will show driller service areas and services that drillers can maintain in WebDriller. It will also indicate the number of completion reports submitted.  The current list of licensed drillers is located at http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/topogeo/groundwater/gw_privwells/ under “Water Well Drillers Licensing Program.” This web page will be updated as a searchable list that shows the current information plus services and counties serviced.

It is our intent to release the updated WebDriller on Monday, June 2. WebDriller will be down for a short time on the release date while the upgrade is completed.  As part of this release, WebDriller will provide new functionality to edit your profile, track your existing reports and wells you intend to drill, and link to supporting information.  The “intent to drill” report is a part of Act 610 that we have never been able to implement effectively; however, we will offer this function as a part of the WebDriller changes, though its mapping function will not be complete by June 2. Most of WebDriller will function basically the same, with new capabilities added.
