The public water people in Tamaqua and the surrounding area drink could be causing cancer. The water comes from the Still Creek Reservoir. The Health Department reports that area is tallying higher than average cancer rates. Tamaqua borough officials are having fish and water from the creek tested. If you would like more information, the Department of Health will be holding a question and answer session at 7:00pm this Wednesday at the Quakake fire company.

<< Note: Tamaqua Borough Councilman John Trudish was interviewed for this segment. He stated that for a nine year period, two tractor trailer tankers a day dumped toxic waste down a mine bore hole on the property in McAdoo which became the superfund site. >>.
