How pure is bottled water?
Drinking enough water is important for good health, but what should the average consumer make of the dizzying array of flavored, sparkling and ‘vitamin’ bottled waters on the market today?
You can get it with fruit flavors, vitamins or tingly carbonation. You can choose from 3,000 brands around the world, all proclaiming their products are natural and healthy. You can get it anywhere — at the market, the gas station, the gym. A lot of people say it’s not much different than what comes out of your faucet, but it sells because it’s handy, cold, portable and kind of chic.

GROCERY CHAIN RECALLS BOTTLED WATER IN FIVE STATES
An upscale grocery-store chain recalled its own brand of bottled water in five eastern states Friday, saying it showed high levels of
BROMATE.
The recall affects 71 stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia.
In 2004, Coca-Cola Co. had to pull its bottled water, Dasani, from the British market for the same reason.

If you have a private water supply that is contaminated with harmful bacteria, high levels of sodium and nitrate, bottled water is the best choice for drinking and cooking. Bottled water is also useful in emergency situations such as floods and earthquakes.
Bottled water is regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as a food product, and the EPA regulates the quality of public water (tap water) supplies as a utility.
Even though bottled water is costly compared to tap water, bottled water is not necessarily safer than your tap water.

Yes, I agree with what you said. I think that iwe should always drink enough water to be healthy. There are now a lot of kind of bottled water that are being sold all over the world because it is definitely easy to get in the market. I just hope that these water will not contain chemicals that are harmful to health.
